Liz Kirkman
Founding Practitioner

Who I am
I was born in Kirikiriroa and grew up in Te Papaoia. I spent my first 20-plus years figuring out where I might fit as the 'black sheep' of the family. Finding craniosacral therapy in my late twenties was a revelation.
Biodynamic craniosacral therapy changed my nervous system and way of being in the world. I began practising as a craniosacral therapist in 2012, and I haven't looked back.
I initially started seeking authenticity and connection through the performing arts and I love working with embodiment and deep listening to all parts of the self.
Craniosacral therapy
I am a registered Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist with the Pacific Association of Craniosacral Therapists (PACT).
I consider myself a Rongoā-informed practitioner, having completed a Level 5 Rongoā Diploma from Te Wānanga o Raukawa as well as Developing and Understanding Matekite wānanga with Lesley and Wiremu Niania Cultural Therapy. I will be adding Wikitoria Oman's Level 1 and 2 Romiromi in June 2026.
I am also trained in the postgraduate physio models of ANF Therapy, Brain Based Coaching through the Neuroleadership Institute, Conception and Developmental Trauma with Myrna Martin, Working with Emotions in the Heart, Belly, and Throat with Steve Haines, and Dynamic Stillness (Heart Ignition) with Dr. Michael Shea.
I love being able to support and hold space for deep nervous system patterns and early developmental holdings/trauma.

My Offerings
I draw on my performance background and work with embodiment and deep listening to all parts of the self, with craniosacral touch.
I offer one-hour in person appointments in Pōneke / Wellington and Halcombe, Manawatū.
I offer half-hour appointments for babies (and their carers).
I also offer remote embodiment sessions of one hour, online.
